Coach Kelsey Hays here!
I started CrossFit back in 2012 and have been doing it ever since :) I first got my L1 back in 2016 and started coaching right away and immediately fell in love with being a coach. I then moved on to get my USAW, L2, and Burgener strength certificate. When I first started CrossFit, I really fell in love with the weightlifting side and competed in Olympic weightlifting for 4 years straight. I competed in youth nationals, junior nationals, and the Florida state championships many times during my time in weightlifting. After 4 years of just weightlifting, I started to sprinkle in some CrossFit again, and I fell completely in love with CrossFit and the methodology even more. Now I still love to weight lift, but I really have fallen in love with CrossFit as a whole and compete now in just CrossFit. I've competed at Wodapalooza two times on a team, and two times as an individual, CrossFit Games Semi-Finals once on a team, and once as an individual. What I love most about CrossFit and coaching is the community, and the fulfillment I get from getting to coach such amazing people who walk through our doors here at OwnIt. I don't know who I would be without this place and the people here. Getting to see people achieve things they never thought possible, and watch them push themselves to their limits fills my cup on a daily basis, and is why I love coaching so much.
